National Historic Aircraft Foundation (NHAF) is a non-profit organization with headquarters at 5324 Lake Lawson Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23455. 

NHAF was organized in early 2004 as a Delaware corporation.  It operates as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.

NHAF's goal is broadly defined by its Mission Statement, as follows:

To advance knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the role of aviation in history to present and future generations.

To participate in the location, recovery, restoration, and/or preservation of historic aircraft - and to assist in and/or provide financing for such activity.

To promote the importance of aviation history via book publishing and commemoration of historical aviation events.

To teach new generations the significance of the "American Spirit":  individual willingness to "take a risk" - to "push the envelope" - to try something better - to strive for excellence - as exemplified in the brief and spectacular history of aviation - the same "Spirit" that built America and is needed to sustain it.
